Process Description

Introduction: Manganese mineral belongs to the weak magnetic minerals, which can be recovered by high-intensity magnetic separator. Shunzhi applies the magnetic process to separate manganese mineral, including two stages, rough separate the high-intensity magnetic ore and concentrate the medium intensity magnetic ore, thus improving the manganese grade by 4% to 10%.

Application: The magnetic extraction process of manganese mineral can be applied to separate high phosphate ore, high-silicon ore and low bixbyite ore.

  • Roughly Separate the High-Intensity Magnetic Ore

  • Shunzhi adopts special high-intensity; Magnetic separator of manganese ore to remove impurities preliminary, then uses spiral classifier to classify rougher concentrate and rougher tailings directly discharge; At last, rougher tailings directly discharge into the tailings thickener.

  • Classifying

  • The underflow of the classifier been delivered into the magnetic separator to concentration, and the overflow been dewatered at the thickener.

  • Thickening

  • The concentration overflow discharged into the backwater system, the concentration underflow converged with the concentration becoming the concentrates.

Processing Flow

  • Crushing and Grinding: After crushing manganese ore, grind it into pulp with ball mills to achieve monomer dissociation of manganese minerals.

  • Gravity Separation: For manganese ore with coarse dissemination size, enrich manganese minerals by gravity separation equipment such as jigs and shaking tables to obtain manganese rough concentrate.

  • Magnetic Separation: Utilize the magnetic difference of manganese minerals to remove iron-containing impurities by magnetic separators and purify manganese concentrate.

  • Flotation: Adopt direct flotation (float manganese minerals) or reverse flotation (float gangue) to upgrade manganese concentrate grade; oxidized manganese ore needs to be sulfidized first and then flotation.

  • Roasting (Optional): Roast low-grade manganese ore to reduce high-valence manganese to low-valence manganese for subsequent leaching and extraction.

  • Thickening and Dewatering: Concentrate and dewater manganese concentrate to obtain manganese concentrate filter cake.

  • Drying and Storage: Dry the filter cake and store the manganese concentrate in silos, or send it to smelters for processing.
